Does MergeSense publish comments to GitLab?

No. MergeSense Lite is read-only toward GitLab and does not publish comments back to Merge Requests.

Do I need to share my whole repository?

MergeSense Lite focuses on Merge Request review data needed for the read-only first-pass review flow. It is not designed as a full-repository scanner.
